Today is my last day of the 12 Days of Christmas Giveaways and I wish so badly I had a gift for each and every one of you. Every time I read a new comment I would hope that person would win and then I would read the next comment and think....'oh I hope she wins' and so on and so on. But...I'm not made of millions. Only hundreds.....Dad!!
{Ok so my dad and I have a running joke...whenever one of us has a hundred dollar bill in our wallet we slyly flash it to each other as to have out-done each other with the $$ in our wallets...except most times, my dad flashes back his wallet with more than one!}
the Keep Calm and Carry On Necklace.
Again in your choice of grey or turquoise!
Leave a comment to win!
Tweet and/or Facebook it for another entry.
Winner will be announced sometime on Christmas Day!
Now to wish you a Merry Christmas and let you know my Christmas thoughts.
My mom said it well in her Christmas letter. It was so good I am going to share it with you here. They are my same feelings.
{Most of you know we lost my younger brother, Jason, and my great Aunt Lorraine a couple of months ago to cancer. It has been a tough year.}
'We said good-bye to two very special family members. Everything we've learned about dying, we learned from Jason. Keep a sense of humor. Enjoy good food. Hug without reservation. Wipe away tears from someones cheeks. Plan for tomorrow; you just might see it. Love unconditionally - really. Tap your hand to music if you can't sing. Say thank you....all....day....long. Let someone serve you. Your body is not an indignity; it's a gift. If you're tired, sleep. And in the end, endure it well.
Everything we've learned about service we learned from Aunt Lorraine. Every person is important. Be a friend to someone no one else likes. Mope about bad news for a day or two then go see who you can help. Don't wait to be asked. Volunteer. Live in the moment, and give of yourself. He has no hands but ours.
Everything we've learned about faith and comfort we learned from our Savior. Keep your heart focused on what really matters. Teach by example. Forgive if you want that same gift back. Judge not. Some comfort comes from a hug; some comes on your knees. "Ask and ye shall receive" really happens. He came for a reason, and this is His season. Rejoice, no matter what.'
I honestly couldn't have expressed my feelings this Christmas season any better. Thanks, Mom.
From our family to yours, we wish you a Very Merry Christmas
and a happy and peaceful New Year!
Winner of yesterday's giveaway....the NieNie Calendar.
Commenter #13...picked by Random.org. I promise!
As I counted down, I actually screamed...."NO WAY!"
It's my sister, Jill, and she was just a little upset when she found out that mom had donated the calendar for the giveaway instead of giving it to her!
You have to read her comment.
Congrats!!
And, if you are interested, I posted a Deck The Halls....Holiday House Tour of our house here yesterday evening.
Hope you all have a wonderful Christmas Eve Day!
